Do you have a passion for places and words?
Using a combination of classroom discussion, fieldwork and practical exercises, this one-day workshop will introduce you to the skills and concepts needed to turn your enthusiasm into writing that brings places to life.
​
The workshop will include a ‘writing walk’ of approximately two hours, and is suitable both for writers starting out and those working towards publication.
​
In the morning we will look at how accomplished writers conjure up a sense of place in their most celebrated works, followed by a short writing exercise with constructive feedback.
​
After lunch we embark on a walk in the landscape around St Anne, putting into practice some of the writing skills we’ve learned during the morning session. The walk has some steeper sections, but there will be plenty of stops!
​
Course fee £75 including a light lunch.
