Coming Next...
Simon Scarrow and Anthony Riches in conversation: From swords and sandals to guns and gumshoes.

Thursday, 24th June 8pm-9pm

Kriminalpolizei Inspector Horst Schenke is a police inspector in 1939 Berlin. Mickey Bale is an elite close protection officer with the Metropolitan police.

Neither of these characters would ring a bell if you were fans of Simon Scarrow's 'Eagles of the Empire' and Anthony Riches' 'Empire' series. But these new characters will soon become your favourite protagonists as the two giants of roman-era historical fiction move into a new genre - writing crime thrillers!

Swapping literary genres is not unknown. Plenty of authors have done it in their careers. Stephen King and J.K. Rowling did it; even Ian Fleming did it, writing 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.

But why have Simon Scarrow and Anthony Riches done it?

How great a leap has it been for them  to change their genre and writing style?

And what will happen with  the much-beloved Macro & Cato and Marcus Valerius Aquila?

Join us for what will surely be an entertaining chat and a fascinating and unique insight into the literary and historical minds of these two amazing authors!
