What our guest authors say about our Festivals

"One of my favourite festivals - a beautiful location, well-organised, fun, friendly intimate with a fascinating range of speakers who are all treated so well by the festival organisers."
Andrew Lownie

"The organisation was flawless and that's WHY this festival and the last were such a success. It's a great mix of contributors, organisers and audience. There's no festival quite like it."
Simon Scarrow

"I have never been so well looked after at any literary festival - the atmosphere is completely unique, and the islanders are literate, engaging and inspiring. If you haven't been, go! You won't forget it."
Manda Scott

"So jealous of everyone at Alderney Lit Fest this weekend. Last year was one of the best times of my life. One of the best book festivals in the WORLD!!!! If you missed this year, plan to go to the next. I kid you not. Do it."
S J A Turney

I’m full of admiration at the way you have built this up and turned it into such a  special festival - like no other. Long may it thrive. The effort, imagination and hard work that is needed to pull off such a triumph is enormous.
Julia Boyd

It has been an incredible experience and I will treasure the books, meals, tours, and inspirations. Thank you for your warmth, hospitality and vision. And thank you for inviting me.

Thank you so much for bringing me to Alderney – and for your appreciation of the book that got me there. I had a wonderful time, and the authors I made friends with all did too. Thank you for the hospitality, all of which was a huge treat! I was enormously impressed with the way the Festival encourages conversations among authors and readers, which was perhaps the most rewarding aspect of it for me. I think that reflects very well not only on the convivial atmosphere you created, but also on your very effective choice of books – the connections and resonances among them, not perhaps completely obvious at first glance, made for conversations I found fascinating and enriching.
